Mithali Raj set for commentary debut with PAK-NED clash
Former Indian skipper and batting great Mithali Raj called time on her playing career earlier this year after a glittering career. But the recently retired cricketer is all set to begin a new journey as she will don the role of a commentator in Sunday’s T20 World Cup clash between the Netherlands and Pakistan.
Mithali Raj decided to retire from cricket earlier this year, putting an end to a glorious 22-year-long international career. By the time she announced her retirement in June 2022, she had become the leading run-getter in the history of women’s cricket, surpassing Charlotte Edwards. Mithali had a distinguished career as a batter and is now on the verge of adding another feather to her exquisite record-laden cap.
The 39-year-old will be seen in a new role as a commentator on October 30 when she joins the broadcast team of Star Sports Hindi, English & Telugu for the second match of the day between the Netherlands and Pakistan. She will also be present behind the mic for the high-octane game between South Africa and India, later in the day. All the Indian fans who have watched her lead the team for the majority of her career can enjoy her commentary from 12:00 PM onwards on Sunday, October 30.
