Sachin Tendulkar got his name etched into the history books when his 49th ODI century against Bangladesh in 2012 made him the only cricket in the history of the game to reach 100 centuries in international cricket. Out of his 100 tons, 51 came in the longest format of the game.
Most half-centuries
Along with the most centuries in the game, the legendary batter has also got the most half-centuries to his name in international cricket. He has accumulated 164 fifties in total, with 96 coming in the 50-over format and 68 in the traditional format of the game.
Most Player of the Match awards
Sachin Tendulkar represented the Indian team in more than 600 matches in international cricket and was adjudged the best player in the match on 76 occasions, the most by any cricketer in the game. Out of his 76 POTM awards, 62 came in ODIs, while 14 came in the longest format of the game for India.

While Australia’s Ricky Ponting holds the record for most appearances in World Cups, Sachin Tendulkar is head and shoulders clear of his great adversary when it comes to the runs scored in the ICC mega event. He amassed 2278 runs in 45 World Cup matches, with six centuries, the joint most in the competition’s history, and 15 half-centuries.
