Michael Vaughan impressed with express Indian pacer Umran Malik
Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has predicted that express pacer Umran Malik will soon play for India. Vaughan has also advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), to let the pacer play in county cricket to develop his skills. To note, Malik is representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
Interestingly, Malik was retained by the Orange Army ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 4 crore after his impressive show last season. The express pacer clocked a 151.03 km/hr delivery in IPL 2021, which turned out to be the fastest delivery by an Indian bowler in the previous edition.
If I was the BCCI I would be sending him to play some County cricket: Vaughan wrote on Twitter
The right-arm pacer has scalped three wickets in IPL 2022 so far, but given his express pace with the ball, Malik is surely a prominent contender to play for team India near future. In the encounter against GT on April 11, Malik scalped a crucial wicket of Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade, as the left-handed batter was caught right in front of the wicket. Malik finished his four-over spell after spending 39 runs and scalping one wicket in the process.
