Making a mark: Highest IPL scores by uncapped batters

Over the years, IPL has gifted numerous batters to international teams who’ve lit up the competition with their sensational batting. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three highest scores by uncapped batters in the history of IPL:
3) 115 (69)- Shaun Marsh (PBKS) vs RR at Mohali in 2008
During Match 56 of IPL 2008, Punjab Kings posted a massive total of 221/3 batting first courtesy of a brilliant hundred by an upcoming Australian star Shaun Marsh. The southpaw smacked 115 off 69 balls with the help of 11 fours and seven sixes in his innings. Punjab ended up winning the match by 41 runs and Marsh was deservedly awarded Player of the Match for his breathtaking hundred. The Australian star also won the Orange Cap in the inaugural edition as he finished as the highest run scorer of the season with 616 runs to his name.
2) 120* (63) – Paul Valthaty (PBKS) vs CSK at Mohali in 2011
During Match 9 of IPL 2011, Punjab were set a target of 189 to chase against CSK. The challenge was happily accepted by Paul Valthaty who played a scintillating knock of 120* off 63 balls smashing 19 fours and two sixes in his innings. Courtesy of his splendid hundred, PBKS chased down the target with five balls to spare and won the match by six wickets. Valthaty was bestowed with the Player of the Match award for guiding his team home with a splendid hundred.
1) 124 (62) – Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR) vs MI at Mumbai WS in 2023
The 21-year-old owned the Mumbai Indians attack in Match 42 of IPL 2023 as he played a knock for the ages. Jaiswal went on to score a magnificent 124 off 62 balls clobbering 16 fours and eight sixes in his innings to help RR post a massive total of 212/7 batting first. However, his knock ended in vain as Mumbai successfully chased with three balls to spare. Despite ending on a losing side, Jaiswal was awarded Player of the Match as he registered the highest score ever by an uncapped player in IPL history.
