Looking forward to learning the most from Younis Khan: Rashid Khan
Afghanistan’s spin sensation Rashid Khan has revealed his desire to work with the newly appointed Afghanistan batting coach Younis Khan. Along with Younis, Umar Gul has also been brought into the set-up as he has been appointed the bowling coach ahead of the upcoming preparatory camp in the UAE. Both Younis and Gul have served Pakistan cricket for a long time, including being part of the 2009 T20 World Cup-winning campaign.
Younis played 118 Tests, 265 ODIs and 25 T20Is for Pakistan and is rated among the best batters to have played for his country. The right-hander is the only Pakistan cricketer to have scored more than 10,000 Test runs. He hit 34 centuries and 33 half-centuries in his 17-year Test career.
Younis tweeted that he is delighted to work with the Afghanistan side as a batting coach and recalled the conversations about it since 2011. He added that the upcoming preparatory camp in the UAE will be the ideal time to work on the talent that is available in the squad.
