Longest streak of getting opponents all out in ODIs
Getting a side bowled out is quite an accomplishment across any format of the sport. Similarly, in the ODIs, the format requires players to be at their best levels to produce an impressive performance to keep their side ahead. While teams look to play the entirety of the 50 overs, there have been times wherein some terrific bowling or poor batting led by improper shot selection would lead to the batting team getting all out. Impressively, there are certain teams who have been able to bowl out their opponents on a consistent basis in consecutive matches. With that said, we take a look at the top three teams who have bowled out their opponents most times in consecutive innings in men’s ODIs-
3) Pakistan – 1996 and 1999/2000 | 9
Over the years, Pakistan have produced some terrific bowlers including the likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis among others. In 1996, under the leadership of Akram, Pakistan dismissed their opponents in a record nine consecutive innings. In addition to this, the Men in Green further replicated the feat in 1999/2000 and took up the third spot in this list.
2) Australia – 2009/2010, South Africa – 2013/2014 | 10
Much like Pakistan, the Aussies too have produced quite a number of lethal bowlers, who have ripped through the batting order of numerous opponents. In the 2009/10 campaign, Australia went 10 innings straight by dismissing their rival teams in the ODIs. The Proteas in 2013/14 too attained the feat when they went 10 matches in a row by outfoxing their opponents in the format.
1) Sri Lanka – 2023 | 11*
The Lankan Lions are relishing a phenomenal time with the ball in 2023. The likes of Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, and Maheesh Theekshana among others have played vital roles in getting the breakthroughs for their side. The Dasun Shanaka-led side have been at their best as they have gone 11 games in a row by dismissing their rival teams in the ODIs which is still unbroken.
