Langer hails Buttler as the ‘new MS Dhoni’
Australia head coach Justin Langer has lavished praise upon England’s wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler ahead of their blockbuster clash against their eternal rivals at Lord’s. Langer compared Buttler to legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni, citing his impactful performances in many games.
Speaking to the press, Langer said:
“Jos is an unbelievable player. I love watching him bat. He is the new Dhoni of world cricket. I hope he gets a duck in this game obviously, but I saw him at Somerset and he is an unbelievable athlete and an incredible finisher. They (England) have a very strong batting unit and we will have to be right on it.”
The two sides will clash on Tuesday with the pressure firmly on England after their shock defeat against Sri Lanka at Headingley. But Langer has no doubts about the quality which England possess and still believes they are the team to beat in the tournament.
“They are the best team in the world. Just look at their team… nothing has changed in a week. I can’t wait for Tuesday — England at Lord’s, World Cup. That is what we are thinking about. They (England) have a very strong batting unit and we will have to be right on it.”
