The Beginning
Born in a cricketing family in West Yorkshire in 1989, Bairstow had cricket in his blood. He was chosen as the inaugural winner of the Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year award. He later scored heavily for Yorkshire second XI and earned his debut for the first XI. Just in two years of his first-class debut in 2009, Bairstow earned a place in England’s ODI and T20I side. By 2012, he had made his Test debut at Lord’s against West Indies.
