The Beginning
Archer showed immense promise in his early years in Barbados. He was even a part of the U-19 West Indies side. However, a persistent back injury halted his progress in the West Indies. The fast bowler then decided to ply his trade in England. His senior West Indies-born fast bowler Chris Jordan helped Archer get a contract with Sussex. Once he started playing first-class cricket in England, there was no looking back.
IPL Exploits
Archer was one of the most exciting picks in the 2018 IPL Auction, earning a contract worth INR 7.20 crores for Rajasthan Royals. In his maiden season, Archer picked up 15 wickets in just 10 matches. He continued his wicket-taking streak in the next two seasons. The fast bowler has also displayed his hard-hitting skills whenever he earned an opportunity.
