The Rise
Born in Meerut, it was Bhuvneshwar’s sister Rekha Adhana, who encouraged him to play cricket and took him to his first coaching centre when he was 13. Bhuvneshwar made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh at the age of 17 against Bengal. He shot into the limelight in the 2008/09 Ranji Trophy final when he became the first bowler to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in first-class cricket.
In 2012, Bhuvneshwar made his T20I and international debut against Pakistan in Bengaluru. He impressed straight away with a spell of 3/9 in his 4 overs. He opened his account in ODIs by taking a wicket on the first ball that he bowled as he sent back Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan. These performances propelled Bhuvneshwar in the Test setup as well. With consistent returns, he went on to become one of India’s most reliable bowlers in limited-overs cricket.

Off The Field
As calm and as serene Bhuvneshwar appears on the field, he is the same off it. His Instagram bio suggests that he is a pet lover and a casual gamer. He often posts pictures with his pet dog. He married Nupur Nagar on 23rd November 2017.
