The Beginning

Born in Pretoria, South Africa, de Villiers with his natural athleticism was always destined for greatness. His father played rugby union in his youth and encouraged a young AB as well to excel in sports. And he did in a variety of them, before finally deciding that cricket was his true calling.

De Villiers is one of the best earning South African cricketers, with his massive paycheque in the IPL along with his ventures in other T20 leagues around the world. He married his girlfriend Danielle in 2013 after proposing to her at the Taj Mahal in 2012. He is an avid fan of rock music, especially the legendary band Dire Straits and is an accomplished guitarist and singer.
