Kiran More backs Rishabh Pant to break MS Dhoni’s records
India just bagged a stunning victory against England after clinching the series 3-1 on March 6 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The England players completely failed to stand against the Indian spinners and had to hand over an enthralling series win to the hosts on day three of the 4th Test. Though many youngsters rose to the occasion and performed for the team, it was Rishabh Pant who has been grabbing constant limelight for the last few months for his outstanding willow and gloves work.
Pant smashed 101 runs in the fourth Test match to bring back India into the game from a rough patch and built a sturdy partnership with Washington Sundar. Sundar in return, played a thrilling knock of 96 runs to push India in the commanding position. Head coach Ravi Shastri also heaped praises on Pant and stated he has worked harder than anyone else in the camp in the last few months. His constant training related to game and fitness has given him these results.
In the same reference, India’s former wicketkeeper Kiran More also joined the list of people who are lauding Pant this time around. He stated that it is only Pant’s second Test at home in his career of 20 Tests so far and he has just been outstanding. He wondered why Pant was not given more chances at home even when he was capable of doing so. More also stated that keeping his progress in line, the day is not far when he will break India’s legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni’s record.
