Jofra Archer ruled out of T20 World Cup, Ashes due to elbow issues
England cricket team has received a major blow as Jofra Archer is ruled out for the entire year. This means the speedster will ongoing Test series against India, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, and the Ashes series in Australia. He will also not participate in the remaining matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Archer was suffering from elbow issues for a while and he doesn’t seem like recovering anytime soon.
The persistent elbow injury hasn’t allowed Archer to play regular cricket since the last year. His wound deteriorated even further over the course of the five-match T20I series against India earlier this year. This even forced him to pull out of the now-postponed IPL 2021. Archer subsequently underwent surgery and even made a brief return in May.
We’re gutted for you and all behind you, @JofraArcher.

Jofra Archer’s absence is a major setback for England
Archer’s availability might also dent England’s chances of winning Ashes 2021-22 down under. Hence, all England can hope for the fast bowler’s speedy recovery. After all, he has been a cornerstone of the side across formats ever since making his international debut in 2019. He possesses the ability to set the speed gun on fire and nailing yorkers and bouncers isn’t beyond his reach either.
At times, he has also helped the Three Lions with his blitzes lower the order. Speaking of his numbers, Archer has 42, 30, and 17 wickets in 13 Tests, 17 ODIs, and 14 T20Is. Hence, it would be interesting to how much his absence will dent the Three Lions in their upcoming assignments.
As of now, England are hosting India in the first Test of the five-match Test series. They couldn’t make a fruitful start with Indian bowlers bundling the home team out for 183 runs in the first innings. Hence, Joe Root’s men need a substantial effort to make a comeback.
