Jaiswal, Gaikwad reveal first experience with MS Dhoni
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have revealed their experiences and and special moments with MS Dhoni. The former Indian captain has retired from international cricket but the youngsters get chances to interact with him in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Jaiswal revealed that he got goosebumps when he saw the legend for the first time in IPL 2020. Notably, the youngster was seen doing a ‘Namaste’ gesture towards the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper. On the other hand, Gaikwad stated that he is lucky to spend 2-3 months with Dhoni every year. Being a part of the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, Gaikwad scored load of runs for the franchise.
BCCI’s official page shared a glimpse of the heartwarming chat between the two openers ahead of India’s first Test.
“I don’t have a lot of words to say, as I was watching him from childhood and I said, ‘Namaste’sir, on my first interaction and got goosebumps, and it was a blessing to see him,” said Jaiswal in the video shared by the official Twitter handle of BCCI.
“I am very lucky and fortunate to spend time with him; actually, I see after the match that there are players who go to talk with him and are desperate to get knowledge from him, so I feel lucky in that perspective that I get to spend two-three months with him,” said Ruturaj.
Meanwhile, India will face West Indies in two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is in the tour. It will be interesting to see who among Jaiswal and Gaikwad will get the opportunity to debut for Team India first.
