It’s about continuing with the momentum in UAE leg of IPL: Devdutt Padikkal
The UAE leg of IPL 2021 is all set to kick off on September 19 with the opening clash all set to take place between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Franchises and players have been gearing up in full swing to make a mark in the second phase and in the same light, young RCB star Devdutt Padikkal has come up with his opinions.
Padikkal feels that the gap between the first and second phase of IPL wasn’t long and therefore teams just need to continue their momentum. The young player feels that it never felt like that IPL ever stopped and it was just a long break.
“It’s almost felt like we are continuing the tournament again. It doesn’t feel like that we have had a long break because we have had enough cricket in between as well. It does not feel like a huge break. So, it’s just about continuing with the momentum we had in the first phase of the season,” said Padikkal in a video interview posted by RCB on their Twitter account.

Devdutt Padikkal opens up on his form in the first phase of IPL 2021
The young batsman of RCB also threw some light on his prolific form in the Indian leg of IPL 2021. Padikkal smashed his maiden IPL century in the first half against Rajasthan Royals and it came in just 51 deliveries. He remains to be one of the main players to be watched out for in the gulf nation alongside RCB as he has been shining for them for two years.
“I never expected myself to do that at that point. Although I did believe that I can get those runs and get those fifties, sixties, I hadn’t pictured myself into getting that hundred. To do that in that game and just that everything fell in place. Once I got going, I just knew this was the day that I had to make it big and that’s very important to do that. Like, those days don’t come around often. Once you have that moment, just grasp it and I felt that I did well that day,” said Padikkal.
