Ishant, Pujara resume outdoor training amid COVID-19 pandemic
Indian Test cricketers Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma have resumed outdoor practice amid the coronavirus pandemic in the country. Both players shared pictures and videos on their respective social media pages in the last few days.
Pujara was the first to take the field after spending nearly 3 long months indoors owing to the lockdown scenario. The Indian Test batsman on Monday (June 22) was seen padding up for batting practice at a deserted ground. Pujara last played in the Test series against New Zealand earlier this year.

Back at it…felt like a long time away but just as i took the stance felt as if it was yesterday
Despite the central government and sports ministry’s go-ahead to restart cricket practice in empty stadiums, the Indian team is yet to hit the ground. The proposed training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru also hasn’t been set up yet. Uncertainty over the resumption of cricket in India continues to loom as fans hope to see their favourite players in action.
Ishant gets going
Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma also stepped out on a sunny day to enjoy some light drills on a desolate ground. The Test pacer was last seen bowling against New Zealand in the Test series.
While the fate of the IPL and T20 World Cup hangs by a thread, India will most likely tour Australia for a full-fledged series starting December 3. In that case, both Pujara and Ishant will be seen in action in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
