Ishan Kishan reveals the toughest bowlers in the Mumbai Indians’ nets

Ishan Kishan

India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan represents Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The batsman joined the franchise in 2018 and, since then, has been an indispensable part of the five-time champions. The 22-year-old is a jovial personality outside the cricket field and gave a glimpse of his fun side as he went live on the Instagram handle of Mumbai Indians.

During the live session, Ishan revealed a lot of dressing room secrets of Mumbai Indians and answered some fun questions related to the players. When the youngster was questioned regarding the toughest bowler he has faced in the Mumbai Indians contingent, Kishan gave an interesting answer.

Ishan chose Jasprit Bumrah and Krunal Pandya as two of the toughest bowlers. While the name of Bumrah was expected considering he is counted as one of the best pacers of recent times, Krunal’s inclusion came as a surprise for many cricket fans.

Notably, Krunal is a left-arm spinner but he doesn’t get successful in turning the ball much. Thus, the all-rounder relies on speed to rattle the opposition batters. Elaborating his answer, Ishan revealed that Krunal bowls really slow in nets and he swings his bat twice till the time balls reach him.

“Jasprit Bumrah and Krunal Pandya. Because in the nets, Krunal bowls so slow that I can’t even imagine. I swing my bat twice till the time the ball comes!” Ishan claimed.

Further, Ishan labelled Bumrah as the shyest person in the squad. The 22-year-old revealed that though Bumrah isn’t exactly shy, he is hardly seen apart from the practice sessions or matches. Ishan claimed that Bumrah doesn’t like to come to parties and even if he does, it is just for a few minutes.

“I think no one is shy in that team, but I think the one you get to see the least is Jasprit Bumrah. You will only see him while playing matches. That’s it and then he’s lost. He doesn’t come for any team party also and even if he comes, it’ll only be for five minutes,” Ishan revealed.
