Ishan Kishan opines on his stellar run of form with the bat

Dashing Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has made a name for himself in the past few years all thanks to his stunning performances. The left-handed batsman likes to attack bowlers from the outset and his ability to bat anywhere in the order makes him an even greater asset. Not to forget, Kishan has also been impressive behind the stumps. Owing to all these factors, many fans and experts have backed him to become the next big thing in Indian cricket.

While Kishan has been around the scenes for a while, the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was his breakthrough season. The swashbuckler played one sensational knock after another as Mumbai Indians lifted their fifth title. Kishan’s stellar run of form earned him a place in the national team and the southpaw didn’t disappoint.

In fact, the youngster became the first Indian to smash half-centuries both on T20I and ODI debut. Speaking of his recent rise, the 23-year-old called the last few years incredible.

Ishan Kishan speaks about his rise

“Last couple of years has been an incredible journey for me personally, both as a cricketer and an individual. As I now make the transition to international cricket, I am happy to have the team at RISE Worldwide support me off the field,” he said during the RISE Worldwide for global management and marketing representation.

Meanwhile, Kishan will next be seen in the second half of IPL 2021. The gala tournament will resume on September 19 in UAE. Notably, the dasher didn’t enjoy the best of times in the initial half of the season. In five matches, he managed just 73 runs with his strike rate being just a tad over 80. Kishan even got dropped from the playing XI.

However, he recently had a successful tour of Sri Lanka and MI would want him to continue his stellar run. Not to forget, the high-voltage T20 World Cup 2021 will get underway days after the conclusion of this year’s IPL. Kishan is certainly in the scheme of things for the global event. However, he needs to shine in IPL as well to seal a spot for the global competition.
