Irfan Pathan to donate money earned from social media campaigns to charity
COVID-19 has certainly stretched the medical infrastructure in India to its limits in the second wave. More than three lakh positive cases are being consistently registered daily over the past couple of weeks and the fatality rate has also increased, which is a huge concern. Apart from the medical system, poor people are also suffering during these tough times and several cricketers have time and again come forward to help them.
Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan is one of them who has been doing his bit to keep the spirits high of the people in these troubled times. He and his brother Yusuf Pathan have been helping the struggling people and even the frontline warriors in whichever way they can ever since the pandemic broke out in the country.
In another heart-warming gesture, the younger of the Pathan brothers, Irfan, has decided to donate all the money earned from the social media campaigns to charity. Irfan and Yusuf have also donated food and raw materials and helped a massive 90,000 families till now. Not only this, but Pathan Cricket Academy also provided free meals to COVID-affected people in South Delhi.
Even their father, Mehmood Khan Pathan, through his charitable trust, has been providing food to the COVID-19 patients in Vadodara.
The philanthropic side of Irfan Pathan and his family
This is definitely not the first and last time that Irfan Pathan and his family have put their hands up to help those in need. During the pandemic last year, they had donated food to the needy while also distributed almost 4000 masks in Vadodara to make sure that people stay safe. They had also given Vitamin C tablets to the Vadodara Police to boost their immunity as a thanking gesture for their efforts during the lockdown.
Also, not only in the pandemic, but Irfan Pathan, along with his brother, has always extended his helping hand for the ones in need. During the Kerala floods in 2018, they had arranged the flood relief material including basic needs such as medicines, food, innerwear, slippers, lungis, blankets etc., for the affected people in the state.
The two brothers were personally involved in making sure the material reached out to the needy from Baroda and had also thanked the ones who helped them arrange all the things.
