IRE vs IND: 5 Indian players to watch out for
Ireland will take on the visitors India in an upcoming two-match T20I series. While the first match will be played on June 26 (Sunday), the second T20I encounter will take place on June 28 (Tuesday). Both matches will be played at Castle Avenue, Dublin. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the Indian squad for the team. On that note, let us take a look at five players to watch out for in the India and Ireland series.
5. Hardik Pandya
The Ireland tour will be Hardik Pandya’s first international assignment as a skipper. The selection committee named him as captain after Rishabh Pant was recalled for the India side to take on England in a Test match. Hardik has been in great touch lately and will like to continue his good form with the bat against home-side Ireland.
4. Dinesh Karthik
The wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik is scripting a memorable comeback to the international arena. After performing excellently during IPL 2022, the right-handed batter was selected for the five-match T20I series against the Proteas. Karthik played a few excellent knocks for the team in the series and now will look to provide a solid finish to the team against Ireland as well.
3. Sanju Samson
Many fans were left furious after they did not see Sanju Samson’s name in the T20I squad against South Africa. However, the right-handed batter has been named in the squad to face Ireland. Samson likes to take on the bowlers and can be very lethal after he gets set. The right-handed batter will be looking to make most of the opportunities thrown his way.
2. Rahul Tripathi
After performing consistently for the past few years, the moment finally came for Rahul Tripathi as he got named in the Indian squad against Ireland. The right-handed batter will be hoping to make his debut in the upcoming series and will want to perform and give his best to present his case for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
1. Umran Malik
The express pacer Umran Malik was named in the Indian squad to face South Africa. However, he did not get a chance to feature in the playing XI. The right-arm pacer will want to make his debut in Ireland and show his capabilities with the ball. Umran has raw pace which can unsettle any batter at the crease. The tracks in Ireland are likely to support the seamers and the speedster might enjoy bowling on the Dublin wicket.
