IRE vs IND: 2nd T20I Preview – India hope for another show of strength
Jasprit Bumrah-led team India are all set to square off against Ireland in the second T20I match at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin on Sunday, August 20. Notably, the Men in Blue have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series following a win by two runs by DLS method in the first match.
Bumrah made a resounding comeback after a long hiatus due to a recurring back injury as he claimed two wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs and was also adjudged Player of the Match for the same. While the Irish side were restricted to a paltry 139 runs, India reached 47 runs during the chase to win the contest, courtesy of showers at the venue disrupting the play.
Paul Stirling and Co. will need to put in the hard yards to get back on level terms in the series. Another loss in the forthcoming fixture would result in Team India winning the series. Therefore, a crucial match awaits the Irish side as they will look to make a solid comeback to win the second T20I.
Pitch Conditions:
The 22-yard-strip at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin has an inclination for the batters. However, the pacers will be able to extract some bounce and movement early on in the contest, but it is likely that the batters will dominate most of the game. The skipper winning the toss will fancy chasing at the venue.
