3. Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings (453 runs), Match 51, IPL 2017
During Match 51 of the 2017 season, Mumbai and Punjab put up a sensational run fest for the fans at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first, Punjab posted a massive 230/3 in the first innings courtesy of splendid knocks from Wriddhiman Saha (93* off 55) and Glenn Maxwell (47 off 21).
In reply, Mumbai came mighty close to chasing down the target but eventually fell seven runs short of Punjab’s total. Lendl Simmons (59 off 32) and Kieron Pollard (50* off 24) were the top scorers for MI as they finished their innings on 223/6. As a result, Punjab won the match by seven runs.
2. Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders (459 runs), Match 44, IPL 2018
The crowd were treated with a high-scoring game during Match 44 of IPL 2018 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. KKR posted a massive 245/6 in the first innings as Sunil Narine (75 off 36) and Dinesh Karthik (50 off 23) took Punjab’s bowlers to the cleaners. Andrew Tye was the pick of the bowlers for Punjab as he scalped 4/41 in four overs.
In reply, Punjab replied strongly scoring 214/8 in the second innings as KL Rahul (66 off 29) and Ravichandran Ashwin (45 off 22) played splendid knocks.
1. Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals (469 runs) Match 32, IPL 2010
It was a hot day in Chennai on April 3, 2010, when Murali Vijay decided to play one of the greatest knocks of IPL history. The CSK opener smacked 127 off just 56 balls smashing eight fours and 11 sixes in his innings. Albie Morkel also scored a brilliant 62 off 34 balls as CSK posted a mammoth total of 246/5 in their allotted 20 overs, the highest IPL total at that time.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals also scored 223/5 in their innings with Naman Ojha top-scoring with 94* off 55 and Shane Watson scoring 60 off 25. The match is considered one of the most memorable in the history of the IPL as the total aggregate of the game has not been surpassed yet in the tournament.
