IPL: Complete list of centurions for Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are one of the most popular franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since the inception of the competition in 2008, the Bangalore-based franchise has produced some star-studded players like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers. Scoring a century in one of the best leagues in the world is a tremendous achievement for any player and its RCB who have the most individual tons (15) in this tournament.
Let’s take a look at the list of centuries for RCB in the IPL:
Virat Kohli (6)
Virat Kohli has also hit five hundred for the franchise. The right-handed batter slammed four in a single season in 2016. Kohli scored his maiden IPL ton (100* off 63) against Gujarat Lions (GL) followed by 108* off 58 against rising Pune Supergiants. He reached the three-figure mark for the third time against GL again when he struck 109 off 55. His fourth and last one of that campaign came against PBKS when he scored 113 off 50. Three years later, he achieved the feat against KKR in Kolkata where he hit 100 off 58. He became RCB’s leading century-maker with his hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023.
Chris Gayle (5)
Chris Gayle has scored five IPL centuries for RCB. He struck two centuries against Punjab Kings (PBKS), and one each against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Pune Warriors India (PWI), and Delhi Capitals (DC) for RCB. His maiden ton (102* off 55) came against KKR in 2011 and 107 off 49 against the Kings in the same season. Gayle slammed 128* off 62 against DC in 2012, followed by a breathtaking 175* off just 66 against PWI in 2013. His last one (117 off 57) came against PBKS in 2015. Notably, Gayle has smashed the most tons (six) in the league.
AB de Villiers (2)
AB de Villiers has hit the second-most tons (two) for RCB. He achieved the feat for the first time against Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2015 in Mumbai (WS) where he hammered 133* off just 59 with 19 fours and four maximums, at a strike rate of 225.42. His second ton came against GL in Bangalore in 2016 where he struck 129* off 52 with ten fours and 12 sixes, at a strike rate of 248.07.
Manish Pandey (1)
Manish Pandey is the first centurion for the franchise and also the first Indian to achieve this special feat. He did the job against Deccan Chargers in Centurion in 2009 where he hit 114* off 73, which included ten fours and four maximums and at a strike rate of 156.16.
Devdutt Padikkal (1)
Left-handed batter Devdutt Padikkal became the fifth RCB player to grab the feat. He reached the three-figure mark against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mumbai in 2021 where he slammed 101* off 52 with 11 fours and six maximums and at a strike rate of 194.23.
Rajat Patidar (1)
Rajat Patidar is the sixth and last player to reach the milestone for this franchise. The right-handed batter slammed 112* off 54 with the help of 12 fours and seven sixes and at a strike rate of 207.40 against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator clash in Kolkata in 2022.
