IPL 2023: Top 3 uncapped batters to watch out for
As the nation gears up for the eagerly-awaited 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), cricketers too will be excited to take the field and put their best foot forward. The league is known to have unearthed some terrific talent since its inception in 2008. Numerous youngsters have garnered massive attention due to their classy performances and with this, they get one step closer to making it to the national team. On that note, we take a look at the top three uncapped players who could do wonders in the forthcoming edition of the IPL-
3. Rinku Singh
The southpaw was acquired by KKR in the 2018 auction for INR 80 lakh. The batter may not have fully bloomed yet but has the potential to come all guns blazing for the franchise. In the 2022 season, the left-hander scored 174 runs in seven matches with a healthy average of 34.80. The batter recently notched up a mammoth ton against Odisha in a Ranji Trophy game for UP and will look to carry his form to the IPL.
2. Sarfaraz Khan
One of the finest players in recent times- Sarfaraz Khan has been unlucky to receive a call-up from the Indian national team. However, his domestic form speaks volumes as the batter has clobbered five tons and one half-century in his last five outings in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai. Sarfaraz will aim to continue piling up runs in the IPL for Delhi Capitals in the forthcoming edition.
1. Narayan Jagadeesan
CSK released him last season as he did not get too many chances for the side considering MS Dhoni was at the helm behind the stumps. Jagadeesan took the domestic circuit by storm as he became the first player to score tons in five consecutive innings in List A cricket. He also clobbered 277 off 141 balls for Tamil Nadu against Arunachal Pradesh at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore which became the highest individual score in domestic cricket. He will look to ply his trade for Kolkata in the upcoming season and fire big for the side.
