IPL 2023: Jaydev Unadkat ruled out of the tournament with shoulder injury
Lucknow Super Giants pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled for the remaining IPL 2023 season. The 31-year-old hurt his left shoulder during a practice session on Sunday, April 30. However, as per reports, the cricketer will be fit by the time India takes on Australia in the World Test Championship finale, which is slated to begin on June 7 at the Oval.
Notably, right before he was slated to bowl a delivery in nets, Unadkat’s left foot got stuck in a rope. Because of the same, the cricketer had a nasty fall on his bowling elbow and hurt himself in the process. Lying on the ground, he clutched his shoulder. As per ESPNcricinfo, the cricketer was seen with his arm in a sling and an ice pack on his shoulder not long after.
Meanwhile, Unadkat has travelled to Mumbai for the scans, and currently, BCCI is keeping a close eye on his development. The cricketer visited one of the special consultants appointed by the Indian board. Following, the Lucknow Super Giants management decided to withdraw his name for the remaining season. He is now expected to move to National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for rehab. In order to get ready for his next assignment, which is the WTC finale, he is being shifted to NCA.
