IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals impose strict Code of Conduct for players

The Delhi-based IPL franchise have decided to impose a rigorous Code of Conduct for its players of the squad. One of the players reportedly misbehaved with a woman at a franchise party. It is understood that the incident took place during a party organised by the franchise following the win against Sunrisers Hyderabad which took place on Monday, April 24. The management took heed of the situation and has implemented certain guidelines, requiring permission for visitors to access player rooms.

DC have taken necessary action so as to avoid such a scenario in the future. According to the code of conduct, players are no longer allowed to bring their acquaintances post 10 pm. Any breach of the mentioned code will result in either termination of contract or a fine.

It is worth mentioning that the players and support staff are allowed to bring Wives/girlfriends to travel with the team. However, as per the norm, players and support staff have to bear the travel expenses of their partners. Moreover, the players have to notify the franchise officials prior to their members joining the team.

Any breach of the code might result in fine or even termination of the contract

“Players can no longer bring their acquaintances to their rooms post 10 pm and in case they wish to entertain their guests it should be in the team hotel’s restaurant or coffee shop. The players also need to inform the franchise officials when they wish to leave their hotel to meet someone. Any breach of the code might result in fine or even termination of the contract,” read the Code of Conduct as reported by the Indian Express.

Delhi face a disastrous start to the IPL 2023 campaign with five losses on the trot. But, David Warner and Co. have won their last two fixtures. After winning their last match against Sunrisers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 24, the two sides will lock horns again on Saturday, April 29. DC will look to maintain their winning run and keep their momentum intact in the top-tier league.
