IPL 2023: 3 Players RCB might pick at the auction
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) put in impressive all-round performances to finish the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season in the third position. The management made no big changes to their squad and released the likes of Behrendorff, Rutherford and Luvnith Sisodia ahead of the mini-auction. Meanwhile, they need reinforcement in the bowling department due to a few injury concerns. They have a good budget of INR 8.75 crore remaining in the purse. So, let’s take a look at three players RCB might target in the 2022 mini-auction.
Daryl Mitchell
The experienced New Zealand batting all-rounder was released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the upcoming auction. He scored 33 runs from two innings during the 2022 edition of the tournament but has enjoyed good form in international cricket across formats this year. Mitchell smashed 53* in the T20 World Cup semi-final clash and is available for base price of INR 1 crore in the auction.
Joshua Little
The young Irish pacer is enjoying a great year in T20 matches. Little has established himself as one of the best wicket-takers in death overs. Taking 39 wickets from just 26 innings in T20I cricket in 2022 he is the leading wicket-taker in the format. Little has set at a base price of INR 50 lakh in the auction. RCB are likely to spend big on securing him if they fail to win bids for their other targets.
Vidhwath Kaverappa
The 23-year-old right-arm pacer made his debut for Karnataka in domestic cricket this season. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 2022 with 18 wickets from eight innings. He also took four wickets in the first innings on his Ranji Trophy debut this month and is likely to earn big bucks in the 2023 IPL mini-auction.
