IPL 2022: Top 5 run-getters of the season
The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is completed with the new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) lifting the cup. In this edition, the fans were entertained with some of the most mesmerizing performances by the batters. However, there are quite a few batters who performed with the bat throughout the tournament and scored most of the runs for their franchise. On that note, let us take a look at the top five run-getters of the season.
Shubman Gill (GT)
Gujarat Titans (GT) opening batter comes fifth in the list after stroking 483 runs in just 16 innings. The right-handed batter maintained a decent average of 34.50 and scored his runs at a strike rate of 132.32. He made an excellent 96 runs against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) during a group stage match.
Hardik Pandya (GT)
GT skipper Hardik Pandya was among the runs throughout the tournament. Coming to bat at number three for most of the time, the right-handed batter stroked a total of 487 runs at an excellent average of 44.27. The right-handed batter played at a decent strike rate of 131.26 and his highest score was 87 not out.
Quinton de Kock (LSG)
Another new team player on the list, Quinton de Kock had an excellent outing for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The left-handed batter amassed 508 runs in just 15 matches and scored runs at a brisk strike rate of 148.97. De Kock averaged 36.28 with the bat and his highest score 140* came against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
KL Rahul (LSG)
LSG skipper KL Rahul is one of the most consistent batters in the history of IPL. The stylish batter stroked 616 runs and played at an average of 51.33. Rahul played at an impressive strike rate of 135.38 and his highest score of 103* came against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.
Jos Buttler (RR)
England and Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Jos Buttler had an excellent outing in IPL 2022. The right-handed batter was awarded the Orange Cap (Most Runs) after amassing 863 runs in 18 matches. The right-handed batter played at an average of 54 and had an excellent strike rate of 149.05. Buttler stroked a total of four centuries in IPL 2022.
