IPL 2022: SRH – Three players to watch out for

Abdul Samad

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will start from March 26 with last-year champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and other finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) starting the tournament. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will start off their IPL campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 29 (Tuesday). On that note, let us look at three players to watch out for in SRH.

Kane Williamson

New Zealand and SRH skipper Kane Williamson will have the responsibility of not only making runs with the bat, but also marshalling his troops on the field. Williamson has become an integral member of the franchise. The right-handed-batter has played a total of 63 IPL games and has scored 1885 runs at a splendid average of 40.11. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2018 season and was awarded the Orange Cap as well.

Nicholas Pooran

West Indian wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran was the most expensive pick by the former IPL champions in the mega auction. The left-handed batter is one of the most dangerous batters when it comes to power hitting. He is one of the best strikers of the cricket ball around the globe.  Pooran has played 33 IPL games and has scored 606 runs. The best thing about him is that he bats at a strike rate of 154.99. The wicketkeeper-batter is also very safe behind the wickets and will be one of the key performers for the team in the upcoming IPL season.

Abdul Samad

Abdul Samad has hammered the top international bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada and Pat Cummins in his short IPL career. Perhaps that’s the reason why he was retained by the SRH franchise. The young batter hits sixes effortlessly and will be one of the key players for the team in the upcoming IPL 2022. Talking about his numbers in IPL, Samad has played 23 matches in which he has scored 222 runs at an amazing strike rate of 146.05. The 20-year-old batter will look to provide his best to put his name forward for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
