IPL 2022: RR vs RCB Review – Parag, Kuldeep secure Rajasthan’s victory
Rajasthan Royals continued their winning streak as they managed to defend a relatively par score against the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 29 runs and moved to the top of the points table as well. RCB lost wickets at regular intervals and the lack of partnerships in the middle overs got them to the lowest second innings score in this IPL edition. R Ashwin bowled brilliantly alongside Kuldeep Sen and Prasidh Krishna.
Earlier, after losing the toss, the Royals were straightaway on the backfoot losing their in-form openers. R Ashwin and Sanju Samson could not stay for long as well but a handy partnership between Daryl Mitchell and Riyan Parag kept the Royals in the game. Siraj, Hazlewood, and Hasaranga all picked up two wickets each to restrict the score to 144 in 20 overs despite the unbeaten half-century from Parag.
Top Performers of the game
Riyan Parag
Riyan Parag came to the rescue for the Royals when they were in a spot of bother having lost four wickets and played a very mature knock of unbeaten 56 off just 31 balls when the other batters failed to get going. The right hander hit four sixes and three fours in his brilliant innings and helped his side post a respectable score on board in the first innings.
Kuldeep Sen
Kuldeep Sen was the pick of the bowlers for the Royals side picking up four wickets for just 20 runs and his pace was on the money straight away. The speedster managed to get rid of the big wickets of Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell and it gave the start that the Royals had wanted while defending a par score.
What next for the two teams
Royal Challengers Bangalore will next take on the Gujarat Titans on 30th April at the Brabourne Stadium while the Rajasthan Royals will be up against the Mumbai Indians on 30th April at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai in the evening game.
