IPL 2022: RR vs RCB Preview – Rajasthan look to maintain unbeaten streak

The Rajasthan Royals will be facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Match 13 of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 5. Both teams will be heading into this contest on the back of impressive wins in their previous encounters. Rajasthan beat Mumbai Indians by 23 runs while RCB managed a hard-fought three-wicket win against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

After conceding in excess of 200 runs in their season opener against PBKS, the Bangalore bowlers staged a good comeback in the next game against KKR to restrict them to 128.  However, their famed batting line-up struggled chasing a paltry total and took it down to the final over. Both bowlers and the batters would be expecting to come good against the Royals.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have been dominant on the field so far. Their batters have been impactful in the last couple of games and the bowling has been outstanding while defending totals. It is to be noted that the 2008 winners have won their first two games defending which has been very tough in this season.

As far as the foreign availability of both teams are concerned, the undefeated Rajasthan Royals will not have much to ponder about with a well-balanced squad in place. However, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will need to play the waiting game for some more time.

The Australian trio of all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and pacers Jason Behrendorff, as well as Josh Hazlewood, will only be available for selection after April 5 as per Cricket Australia (CA)’s central contract rules.

Maxwell has tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Vini Raman and is currently on leave. He also decided to miss Australia’s ongoing bilateral series in Pakistan for the occasion. Once back, the jigsaw puzzle regarding RCB’s consistent all-rounder will be solved.
