IPL 2022: RR vs KKR Review – Rajasthan sneak home in a thriller
Rajasthan Royals pulled off a last-over thriller against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 30 and picked up their fourth win of the season. Chasing a huge total, Shreyas Iyer and Aaron Finch provided the right platform by taking on the bowling and reached the 100-run mark in just the ninth over. However, it was the four-wicket over from Yuzvendra Chahal, including a hat-trick, that turned things around for RR and they went on to win the game by seven runs in the end despite the late scare from Umesh Yadav
Earlier, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and let the Royals bat at the Brabourne Stadium. The openers Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal came out all guns blazing and the bulk of the damage was done by Buttler. He carried onto to score a splendid century while contributions from Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer towards the back end saw a big total of 217 being posted on the board.
Top Performers of the game
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler played one of the best innings of the tournament this season and brought up his second century in IPL 2022. The right-hander hit nine fours and five sixes in his 61-ball 103 and played a big part in his side going past the 200-run mark. Buttler has proved time and again that he is one of the best in the business when it comes to the shorter formats, and he did it once again.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a magical final over that produced four wickets and picked up his maiden IPL hattrick as well in the process. The leg-spinner went for 17 in his first over but came back strong, finishing 5 for 40 in his four overs. He picked up the big wicket of Shreyas Iyer as well and turned the game upside down with a moment of brilliance.
