IPL 2022: RR vs GT Preview – Table-toppers Rajasthan up against fierce Gujarat

The Rajasthan Royals will be facing Gujarat Titans in Match 24 of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 14. Both teams will be heading into this clash on the back of contrasting results in their previous encounters. While RR managed a nail-biting three-run win over the other new entrants Lucknow Super Giants, GT’s undefeated streak came to an end with an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

GT’s bowlers and batters were consistent in the first three games but had a rare off-day against the Orange Army where the in-form bowlers failed to defend 162 and no batter apart from skipper Hardik Pandya could rise to the occasion. It was courtesy of Hardik’s quickfire unbeaten 42-ball 50 which made it possible for the Gujarat Titans to post a fighting total after they were put in to bat by SRH captain Williamson.

This will be the first-ever faceoff between both sides but with their current form, it would be difficult to predict who has the upper hand. GT might have suffered their first loss after having an off day against SRH but, they would be hungry to prove a point or two in their next game. RR, on the other hand, have been showcasing consistent performances while defending totals as they have got three of the results in their favor from the four matches with the only loss coming against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

At the same time, it would also be interesting to see whether both the teams will yet again succeed in defending a total should they have to bat first after losing the toss.
