IPL 2022: PBKS vs LSG Preview – The mid-table sides clash in all-important game
The Punjab Kings will be locking horns with the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 42 of IPL 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 29. Both teams would be oozing with confidence heading into this contest. While PBKS got the better of the defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 11 runs, LSG registered an emphatic 36-run win over the Mumbai Indians in their previous fixture.
Punjab would be very satisfied with their batting performances, especially opener Shikhar Dhawan, who helped in laying a solid foundation with a quickfire 59-ball 88, and wicketkeeper-batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who returned to form with a 32-ball 42, in the previous match.. The bowling looked clueless initially, but the pace duo of Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh staged a remarkable comeback at the death.
LSG, on the other hand, will need to worry about their brittle middle-order that failed miserably against MI and they could have been dismissed cheaply had it not been for their skipper KL Rahul who scored a blistering 62-ball 103, which also happened to be his second century of IPL 2022 and that too against the same opposition. The bowling seems to be clicking well as a unit and even though pace sensation Avesh Khan was unavailable due to a niggle, all-rounder Krunal Pandya starred on the day with match-winning figures of 3/19.
Predicted XI for Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants
Punjab Kings
Senior pacer Sandeep Sharma was the most expensive bowler for the Punjab Kings in the last game, finishing with figures of 1/40 at an economy rate of 10. Nonetheless, PBKS could stick to their winning combination.
