IPL 2022: PBKS vs DC Preview – A spot in the playoffs up for grab
The Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on the strong-looking Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next group stage encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The match will be played at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on May 16 (Monday). Both PBKS and DC are coming to the contest after winning their previous match and will want to continue their winning run.
While PBKS handed a defeat to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their previous encounter by 54 runs, DC thrashed the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets and ensured that they remain in the race for the play-offs.
Both teams have had a decent tournament so far and would look to give their 100% during the business end of the IPL 2022 to qualify for the play-offs. Both teams have some excellent batters and the fans might witness a run-fest in the upcoming fixture.
Here’s the predicted XI for the game between PBKS and DC:
Punjab Kings
PBKS is handing a comfortable victory to the Red Army and will want to stick with the same playing XI. However, the poor form of PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal is still a cause of worry for the Kings of Punjab.
Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Mayank Agarwal (c), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Liam Livingstone, Rishi Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh
Delhi Capitals
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was excellent with both bat and ball as he was adjudged player of the match against RR. Similarly, David Warner is also looking in great touch. DC will likely stick with the same squad as the previous match.
David Warner, Srikar Bharat, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Anrich Nortje
