IPL 2022 mega auction: Final squad of all ten teams

The intense, gruelling IPL 2022 mega auction concluded on February 13. With IPL 2022 set to be a ten-team event and existing teams dissolved, each think tank without exception had their task cut out over the two days to build a team from near scratch, around a handful of pre-auction retentions. Over the two days, 204 (137 Indians and 67 overseas) of the 296 players who went under the hammer earned a deal, but the remaining 93 failed to, with all franchisees combined spending over INR 551 crores.
Here are the final squads of all the ten IPL teams.
Chennai Super Kings

The Men in Yellow brought back most of their roster. They did miss Suresh Raina, who was not bought by any franchise. Deepak Chahar cost them 14 crores.
Delhi Capitals

The Delhi team lost Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Kagiso Rabada but bought David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Rovman Powell to save the day.
Gujarat Titans

One of the two new teams, Gujarat Titans had a decent outing. They spent a fortune on Rahul Tewatia while Lockie Ferguson was also bought for 10 crores. Jason Roy was a steal buy for them.
Kolkata Knight Riders

The Purple Army struggled initially but a few last-minute purchases have lent them balance. They broke the bank to get Shreyas Iyer. They later purchased Sam Billings and Umesh Yadav.
Lucknow Super Giants

Led at the auction table by Gautam Gambhir, Lucknow had a very strong auction. Quinton de Kock was their biggest purchase with Avesh Khan being another expensive buy.
Mumbai Indians

The high-profile team provided us with the moment of the auction as they signed up Jofra Archer. Their other major picks were Ishan Kishan, Tim David, Dewald Brevis and Tymal Mills.
Punjab Kings

Entering the auction with the largest purse, Punjab had a phenomenal time at the event. They added Jonny Bairstow, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan to their squad.
Rajasthan Royals

The Royals bought both Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin to form a strong spin unit. They also added Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer to their roster.
Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB bought Faf du Plessis, who could well become their next captain. Dinesh Karthik was another star buy as was Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga.
Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Orange Army had a balanced auction. They fought hard to sign up Nicholas Pooran. Aiden Markram and Kartik Tyagi were also major purchases.
