After two mad days, the mega auction for IPL 2022 is over. We saw some exhilarating action from the owners. It was heartening to see home-grown Indian players walk away with hefty contracts. Welcome to the live coverage of the second day of the IPL 2022 mega auction. A total of 97 players went under the hammer yesterday. While Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer and others found an incredible price for their talent, Suresh Raina, Adam Zampa, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan etc did not find any takers.
The second day is likely to be even more action-packed since the teams are looking to fill up their squads and provide the finishing touch. 64 cricketers are supposed to be auctioned in the first half. After the lunch break, an accelerated auction shall take place.

The BCCI has added 10 more players to the auction list. The total number of cricketers going under the hammer is now 600. The players added are Aaron Hardie, Lance Morris, Nivethan Radhakrishnan, Agnivesh Ayachi, Hardik Tamore, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mihir Hirwani, Monu Kumar, Rohan Rana, Sairaj Patil. While Hardie, Morris and Radhakrishnan are from Australia, the rest are all from India.

Welcome to the live coverage of the mega auction for IPL 2022. The two-day event begins from 12 February in Bangalore. A total of 590 players will be going under the hammer with the 10 participating teams aiming to complete their squad. Here are the players retained by the existing eight IPL teams. Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans have also announced the players who will be on their roster. Here are the picks of Lucknow and Gujarat.
For every player retained, the teams had to shell out a designated price. Also, a team can employ a maximum of 25 players and a minimum of 18 players. After the retention process, here is how the teams stand prior to the auction.
