IPL 2022: LSG vs MI Preview – Mumbai in search for their maiden victory
The new entrants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on the five-time champions in their next group stage encounter to be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The match will be played on April 24 (Sunday) and it will be the first time that the Men in Blue and Gold will be playing at their home ground.
Meanwhile, MI has lost all previous seven matches against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), LSG, Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and the Delhi Capitals (DC). As a result, MI is languishing right bottom of the points table.
Meanwhile, the entrants are having a decent tournament so far, as they are placed fourth on the points table with four wins in seven matches. The Super Giants have beaten MI, DC, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and CSK. However, they have suffered defeats at the hands of GT, RCB, and RR. To note, LSG also lost their previous encounter against the Red Army by 18 runs.
Both teams have a strong batting line-up and it is expected to be a cracker of a contest between the five-time champions and the new entrants.
