IPL 2022: KKR vs SRH Review – Tripathi, Natarajan complete Hyderabad’s hat-trick
Sunrisers Hyderabad won their third game in a row in IPL 2022 with a victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 25. Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi’s partnership for the third wicket turned the game in the Sunrisers’ fortune completely and Shreyas Iyer led side could not do much against the assault from the two batters in a run chase of 176.
Earlier, Kane Williamson won the toss and his decision of asking KKR to bat first proved ideal as the Sunrisers bowlers picked up 3 early wickets with just 31 on board. Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana steadied the ship with a decent partnership while Andre Russel continued his impressive form to finish with a flourish. However, the total wasn’t enough in the end and SRH moved into 6 points with the win.
Top Performers of the game
Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram was one of the star performers in the Sunrisers Hyderabad run chase and the Proteas batter cut loose in the final few overs to get their net run rate up as well. Markram remained unbeaten on 68 off 36 balls with four sixes and six fours in his superlative knock and helped his side over the line.
Rahul Tripathi
Rahul Tripathi played a gem of an innings with the bat and kept putting the pressure on the KKR bowlers by finding the boundaries on regular occasions. The right-hander hit 71 off just 37 deliveries that included six sixes and four fours and took on Varun Chakravarthy in his very first over as well which wasn’t the easiest task.
What next for the two teams
Sunrisers Hyderabad will next play the Punjab Kings on 17th April at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai while the Kolkata Knight Riders will be up against the Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium on 18th of April.
