IPL 2022: Ireland pacer Josh Little to join Chennai Super Kings as net bowler
As per the latest developments, Ireland pacer Josh Little has been roped in as net bowler by Chennai Super Kings for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Cricket Ireland took to their official Twitter page to announce the same, hoping that it would be a great experience for the left-arm pacer. Notably, IPL 2022 gets underway on March 26 and CSK will step into the competition as defending champions.
Speaking of Little, the 22-year-old made his international debut back in September 2016 and has been a vital cog of the T20I team since. The fast bowler can swing the ball early on and that too with a decent pace. Little can also restrict the run-flow in death overs and he has shown his prowess at the highest level. With the MS Dhoni-led side having many prominent batters in the ranks, the stint with CSK would be a great learning curve for the Irish pacer.
Cricket Ireland hopeful of Josh Little profiting from stint with CSK
As far as his numbers are concerned, Little has 34 wickets in 31 T20I appearances with his economy rate being an impressive 7.49. With the T20 World Cup taking place later this year in Australia, Little’s lessons from his stint with CSK can be major boost for the Ireland team.
Meanwhile, CSK will kick-start the 15th season of the lucrative competition against last year’s finalists Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening clash. Notably, the side had retained the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the mega auction. They tried retaining their core in the bidding event as they reacquired services of Deepak Chahar, Dwayne Bravo and Ambati Rayudu. Hence, the defending champions must be confident ahead of the big season.
