IPL 2022: GT vs CSK Preview – Clinical Gujarat face explosive Chennai
The Gujarat Titans will be facing the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in Match 29 of IPL 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 17. Both teams will be upbeat, having won their respective encounters. GT registered an emphatic 37-run win over the Rajasthan Royals in the last game whereas CSK got the better of the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs.
Gujarat would be expecting their top-order to come out all guns blazing against Chennai after they failed to impress in the last game. It was courtesy of skipper Hardik Pandya’s quickfire 52-ball 87 which eventually propelled them to a match-winning total of 192/4. The bowling has been impressive so far. While New Zealand speedster Lockie Ferguson has made an impact in the wickets column, the Titans found a new hero in uncapped youngster Yash Dayal, who registered figures of 3/40 from his four overs in the last game.
As far as Chennai are concerned, two of their batters Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube have got back into form. Dube has been the most consistent performer for the title-holders with the bat this season having amassed 207 runs from five matches including two half-centuries. His unbeaten 95 set the tone for a mammoth first innings total of 216/4 on the board. The bowling is also clicking at the right time after emerging bowler Maheesh Theekshana registered a four-wicket haul the broke RCB’s backbone during their run chase. He finished with 4/33 from his four overs.
