IPL 2021: RR vs SRH, Stats Preview – Upcoming records and approaching milestones

IPL

After the IPL’s biggest rivalry at Delhi, the action shifts to the two teams fighting at the bottom. Though SRH has one win lesser than RR, most of their losses are by close margins and they have a better net run rate. The winner of the match will avoid the wooden spoon which marks the halfway mark of IPL 2021, as all teams have faced each other once. SRH’s only win this season was against PBKS while Rajasthan Royals’ wins this season were against KKR and DC only.

For SRH, David Warner played an extremely scratchy inning during his last match and also made wrong decisions in a huge defeat. As an immediate effect, Kane Williamson was made the Sunrisers captain. Williamson had played a knock of 26*(10) balls, which sounds better than Warner’s 57(55). From being benched often to becoming the captain, Kane Williamson has come a long way in IPL.

But with SRH languishing at the bottom with just 1 win and 5 losses, Kane doesn’t have any time to prove himself and his team needs to win as much as possible to stay alive. Both SRH and RR have suffered a 7-wicket win in 18.3 overs while trying to defend 172, and this match is critical for the playoff chances of either team.
