IPL 2021: RR vs RCB Preview – Rajasthan fight for survival against resurgent Bangalore
It is the battle of the Royals as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Rajasthan Royals in the league match in Dubai. After having a rough start to this UAE leg, RCB finally got a win against Mumbai Indians in their last game, which will be a massive boost for them ahead of this clash. They have six games in ten matches and would want to work hard to get into the playoffs as quickly as possible and try to end in the top two positions.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, find themselves in a bit of pressure after losing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They now have four wins to go with six losses and with other teams making a move the points table in the middle has become a bit too crowded. A win is crucial for Rajasthan but there are severe concerns with the ability which Sanju Samson’s side possess. If they are able to get two points against RCB, they would’ve had to work really hard and play out of their skins.

Team News:
Rajasthan Royals: Ideally, the Royals should make a couple of changes before going into this match. The issue with their squad is that they might have to change a couple more players if they decide on changing one. At the stage in which they are, it is hard to see them succeeding having made more than a few changes. The one obvious change should be that of Jaydev Unadkat, who might just go back to the bench if Kartik Tyagi recovers in time for this game. Their overseas picks were Evin Lewis, Liam Livingstone, Chris Morris and Mustafizur Rahman. Livingstone hasn’t scored much here and has his place under threat. What might just save his position is the weaker bench strength of Rajasthan.
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Bangalore pretty much went back to their combination which had given them results in the first half of the league. The players who came in didn’t have a huge impact, but the overall combination worked out well against Mumbai Indians. Kyle Jamieson, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell are a must in the team and will surely play. But there are clouds over Dan Christian as he played almost close to no role in that win. Tim David is a good prospect but isn’t a like for like option for Christian. Apart from that one change, RCB is unlikely to tinker around too much.
