IPL 2021: RR vs PBKS – Preity Zinta tweets after Punjab Kings’ close win over RR
In a roller-coaster ride that saw the fortunes swinging between the two sides, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a slender margin of just 4 runs to start their 2021 IPL campaign on a winning note.
Led by a 50-ball 91 from KL Rahul, and a rampaging 64 off 28 deliveries from Deepak Hooda, Punjab amassed a massive total of 221/6 on the board. In reply, the Rajasthan side would have sent a lot of shivers in the Punjab camp.
Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson scored a breathtaking 119 off just 63 deliveries, but that was not enough for his side to cross the finish line, and Rajasthan scored 217/7 in their allotted 20 overs and ended up losing a nail-biting clash. In fact, apart from Samson, there was not even a single batsman from the Rajasthan side who could even cross the 30-run mark. And, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) have started their 2021 IPL campaign in style.
Preity Zinta extends her congratulations to the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side
And now, the co-owner of the Punjab Kings side, Preity Zinta has extended her congratulations to the KL Rahul led side. She stated in her tweet that even though the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side has a new name as well as a new jersey, they will not stop giving heart attacks. She concluded her tweet by stating that even though it might have not been a perfect game for Punjab, the ending was indeed perfect.
Here’s Preity Zinta’s tweet below.

The Punjab side has had a poor run in the IPL thus far. In the 13 editions that they have taken part in the tournament, only twice have they qualified for the knockout stages. While they have never managed to win the IPL title, they finished as the runners-up in the 2014 edition of the IPL. Also, in the last 6 editions of the tournament (2021 not included), the Punjab side finished at the last place twice.
In the 2020 season of the IPL, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) managed to win just 6 matches and ended the tournament in 6th place.
