IPL 2021: RCB vs CSK Preview – Struggling Bangalore face their greatest nemesis
Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to face their South Indian rivals, Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah on September 24. The two teams have batting line-ups who would be licking their lips, considering the records of high-scoring matches at this venue. But, RCB especially will have to be wary of the conditions slightly, given their batting collapse in the previous match.
Despite their loss in the first match of this leg, RCB is well placed with five wins in eight games. CSK are just ahead of them with six wins in the same number of matches. They would be highly confident after their win against their arch-rivals and defending champions, Mumbai Indians. It is also worth noting that CSK had won a match against RCB in the first leg, something for which Virat Kohli and his men will seek revenge.
Head to head

IPL 2021 Match 35 – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
Venue: Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Team News:
Royal Challengers Bangalore: In terms of overseas picks, RCB didn’t surprise their fans. Wanindu Hasaranga was brought into the line-up straight after Dan Christian failed to make an impact in the first leg. AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson will be the other three overseas players, as it has been the case right through this season. RCB’s Indian contingent looks strong as well, even though Sachin Baby’s place will be up for grabs. If he gets replaced, don’t be surprised if Rajat Patidar or Mohammad Azharudeen come into the XI.
Chennai Super Kings: CSK had a similar kind of line-up which had played in the first leg of the IPL as well. They do have an injury concern around Ambati Rayudu as he got hurt while batting in the previous, retired hurt and didn’t come back on the field. If he misses out, we might see Robbie Uthappa’s debut for the yellow brigade. Apart from that, the overseas picks are likely to be the same; Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali are sort of confirmed picks. However, Josh Hazlewood could miss out if MS Dhoni wants to play Sam Curran who has completed his quarantine. Apart from this, no changes are expected.
