Ravi Ashwin has been an integral part of DC’s bowling set up since last year. Though he has not been able to shine much for his franchise this year, his experience adds value to the team. In the five games played so far, the off-spinner has only one wicket under his belt at an economy of 7.73. In last year’s IPL, Ashwin bagged 13 wickets.
Ashwin was up in the DC’s latest game against Sunrisers Hyderabad which ended in a Super Over thriller. Though he failed to get a wicket in the last game, his tight economy of 6.75 in the four overs kept Delhi up in the clash. Batting first, DC posted 159 runs on the board wherein Prithvi Shaw smashed a terrific half-century.
In return, Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow starred for the SRH team and almost got them home before a Super Over had to be called on. DC won the Super Over and bagged the essential two points in the end.
