IPL 2021: KL Rahul responds after Yuzvendra Chahal makes fun of PBKS’ new jersey
Punjab Kings’ jersey for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) must have left many surprised. Before the start of the ongoing competition, the Punjab-based franchise had changed their name from Kings XI Punjab to Punjab Kings and had also changed their jersey. The jersey might have been a new one for the franchise but it was definitely not for the others.
As soon as the Punjab Kings stars walked out on the field wearing their brand new jersey, it took the cricketing world by surprise. Their new jersey had many similarities to Royal Challengers Bangalore’s famous red and gold jersey. The jersey drew mixed reactions on social media. Not only the fans but RCB star Yuzvendra Chahal also could not help but give his reaction on the jersey.
The leg-spinner took to Twitter and shared a snippet of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle having a chat on the field donning the new jersey. Taking a cheeky dig at Punjab Kings’ new jersey, Chahal hilariously tweeted “Welcome to @RCBTweets boys @henrygayle @klrahul11” along with laughing emojis. Rahul and Gayle had previously plied their trade for RCB in the IPL.
KL Rahul responds:
It took KL Rahul some time to notice the tweet from Chahal but the Punjab Kings skipper made sure to react to it. The right-handed batsman hilariously asked Chahal to ensure that RCB wear their away jersey on April 30th when they lock horns against Punjab Kings.
“Wear your away jersey on the 30th,” wrote KL Rahul.

Meanwhile, RCB and PBKS have made a winning start to their respective campaigns in IPL 2021. RCB were up against defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament-opener and won the game by 2 wickets. Bowling first, they did a fine job with the ball to restrict Mumbai Indians to 159 for 9. In reply, they chased down the total on the very last ball of the game.
PBKS, on the other hand, locked horns against Rajasthan Royals in their first game of the tournament and won it by 4 runs. Asked to bat first, the KL Rahul-led side scored 221 for 6 before restricting the Royals to 217 for 7.
