IPL 2021: Four overseas RR players who will be regular starters

Rajasthan Royals have performed miserably in the Indian Premier League after winning the title in the inaugural season. This season, they have new additions to their squad after spending a hefty amount in the mini-auction. They had released their captain Steve Smith before the auction and will be playing under a new captain in the form of wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson.

For every team in IPL, picking their 4 overseas players is always a difficult task. However, for the Rajasthan Royals team, it is not the case as they have the best set of 4 overseas players for this season. Let’s have a look at those 4 players.

Ben Stokes

Royals

Ben Stokes is considered as one of the best all-rounders in the limited-overs format in the current time. He has been a regular fixture in the playing XI of Rajasthan Royals for the last 2-3 years. Last season, he was used as an opener in the later stage of the tournament and took the team to a memorable win against Mumbai Indians by scoring a marvellous century. He will certainly be a regular starter for Rajasthan in the upcoming IPL.

Jos Buttler

Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler is one of the most successful batsmen of Rajasthan Royals. In the absence of Smith, his role will become more important in top order. His form will dictate the fate of the Rajasthan franchise in the tournament. Buttler has scored 1714 runs in his IPL career at a strike rate of 149.56 including 11 half-centuries.

Chris Morris

Chris Morris became the costliest player ever in IPL auction history when he was bought for 16.25 cr by Rajasthan Royals. He performed wonderfully with the ball last year for RCB bowling at an economy of only 6.63. He also took 11 wickets overall and can be useful with the bat as well. Rajasthan would be hoping to see Morris in his top form in the IPL 2021.

Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer has proven his worth as a fine pacer in T20s with good performance in both powerplay and death overs. He has been the number 1 bowler for Rajasthan in recent years. He can also tonk the ball when required. Archer will be pairing up with Morris to make for a lethal pace attack this season.
