IPL 2021: DC vs PBKS Preview – Stumbling Delhi meet inconsistent Punjab
Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings have started their campaign in the IPL 2021 in quite a similar fashion, winning one and losing one match each. Now, they will come up against each other at the Wankhede Stadium on April 18. The clash between these two teams have often been hyped around as the ‘North Indian Derby.’
Delhi, who have a better record in the last two seasons of the IPL and also have a better side on paper than Punjab, don’t have a good past record against them. In the 26 matches between the two teams so far, Delhi has won only 11 while Punjab has won 15. KL Rahul’s team will be upbeat knowing how important it is to beat top sides such as Delhi, while Rishabh Pant and co. will want to bounce back after their last defeat in a thriller.

Team News:
Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals have surprised a few experts with their overseas picks so far in the IPL 2021. Anrich Nortje should be back in the XI, having recovered from COVID-19 and joined the Capitals’ bubble. He is likely to replace Tom Curran, who has been expensive by going around 10 runs per over in both the matches. Chris Woakes, Marcus Stoinis and Kagiso Rabada should keep their places in the side. Lalit Yadav who was brought in the side in the previous match could well retain his spot as the no. 6 Indian batsman.
Punjab Kings: Punjab had a disappointing outing against Chennai Super Kings in their previous game. KL Rahul would be concerned about Nicholas Pooran’s form as the West Indian has two ducks in the tournament now. Chris Gayle should retain his place at no.3 and so will Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson. Punjab do have some talented players like Sarfaraz Khan, Moises Henriques and Mandeep Singh, so it will be interesting to see if anyone of these players get a look in.
