IPL 2021: CSK vs SRH, Stats Review – David Warner’s mega record and more stats
A day of milestones for David Warner, yet he also suffered one of the most horrible days by a captain on the field. Warner struggled to reach a fifty ball fifty, while Manish Pandey scored his fifty at a slightly quicker rate. There were no signs of acceleration, and despite losing only one wicket, SRH were just scoring at under seven and a half per over in the 23rd match of IPL 2021.
While Lungi Ngidi dismissed both Warner and Pandey in quick succession, SRH also stepped up the pace albeit a bit too late. Kane Williamson was the leader of the late acceleration, scoring 26 in 10 balls, followed by Jadhav’s four and a six last two balls.
SRH set a target of 172, which looked like only a few runs short due to the dew factor. But once the chase began, CSK never presented a chance to SRH thinking that they were only a ‘few’ runs short. At the ten-over mark, the opening pair scored 91 runs knocking down half the target. A clear sign of domination shown, with Faf du Plessis in his supreme form scoring third fifty in a row. Rashid Khan started expensively and then, three quick wickets, but it came when the match was done and dusted. With the occasional boundaries under a less required rate, Raina and Jadeja safely ensured there are no further hiccups and steered CSK home.
Here’s a look at the stats produced during the CSK vs SRH game.
